Status ReportSpring 2009NewsletterThe newsletter has been produced regularly during the last quarter under Sohia Vorinen's editorship. Web SiteThe website has been kept up todate with the information flow that is generated by the regular service information life cycle. Service handouts are now available on-line. The natural information is involves changes to the following pages:
Initiatives by the CUC and Hamilton UU required changes in the "CUC & Neighbours" page. The page was also updated to encourage neighbouring congregations to visit us. The Photo section has been updated to handle photo's submitted by Alan Wheeler, Joan Wiley, Bruce Millar, John Berry, Marie Beliveau and Beverly Russell. This quarter, more people have submitted photos. Included in the Photo section was a special display for Spring that was also displayed as signage inside the church. The History section has been updated with a restructured history of the Unitarian Faith. The section is not complete. No progress has taken place on our congregational history. The "Social Action" page was updated with a new page on Sexual Diversity. A multi-computer system walk through of the Lay Chaplain pages with all the Ed, Valerie and Doreen and Julianne. Based on the review, a few word changes were made on the existing pages and the wedding guide was restructured from one massive file to twelve interconnected web pages to simplify the user experience. The Lay Chaplains agreed that they should standardize to use the generic e-mail and the church's phone number as the means to reach them. This translates into a protracted campaign to contact all web sites that are referring weddig business to Doreen Peever, John Mayer, Valerie Jaeger and Julianne Momirov and to give them the new standard means of contact. The UCN Bylaw document was revised by Darcy as a result of the annual meeting and restructured by Bruce in preparation of putting the bylaws on the web. Little progress was made on the computer host change. Communications and AdvertisingService leaders are being more responsive in providing information, though the four week hurdle is not usually being met. So far we are getting feedback and attention from the online adds placed in Kijiji, Craig's List and InsideNiagara. The current focus in the advertising area is to streamline the process to reduce the amount of work required to submit advertising to multiple sources. Web/Phone MonitoringDaily monitoring is underway. |
